Description
Here is a rare 22-3/4" long jointer plane marked "MELHUISH, LONDON" on the gunmetal lever cap. Richard Melhuish & Sons were a retail business which operated out of Fetter Lane, Holborn in London. Melhuish planes were made by other makers, primarily Thomas Norris or Stewart Spiers, and merely stamped with the retailer's name. This particular plane would have been made for them by Stewart Spiers.
