Overstuffed Parallel Scottish Infill Smoother Plane

Scottish style dovetailed smoothing plane with superbly fitted and overstuffed Brazilian rosewood infill and gunmetal lever cap with an attractive cusp, or saracen’s cap, style screw. The dovetailing on this plane is of a very fine standard and is a credit to the maker.

It’s unfortunate that the spur has broken off from the closed-style handle but this is a common ailment of infill planes and can’t be helped. It’s always great when you find an infill with a crisp and undamaged spur though, and some of them can be very fine indeed.

The sole measures 8-1/4″ in length and the cutting iron is 2-3/8″ wide.
