Gunmetal Shoulder Plane By John Holland

A rather angular looking “improved pattern” gunmetal shoulder plane by John Holland of Lambeth in London, featuring a steel sole and a tight mouth.

A really nice user-made steel-soled gunmetal & rosewood shoulder plane measuring only 3-7/8″ in length and 7/16″ wide.

Holtey 11SA high angle infill smoothing plane similar to one featured in an 1850 brochure by Scottish maker, Stewart Spiers.

Modelled on a pattern made famous by Spiers, this gunmetal and ebony shoulder plane features scrimshaw work on the finial of the wedge.

G. Miller worked in London from between 1890 and 1914 and had very distinctive profiles for both his shoulder planes and his chariots.
